„Open the doors!“ Ralf Bauer, a charity project and lots and lots of art

Ralf Bauer, godfather of the Advent-Art calendar’s
Twelfth Day

FROGBLOG first reported BMW’s Art Advent Calendar project that is being staged in several cities for the „Artists for Kids“ charity on 1 December. Within the scope of this charity event that is being held in Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt am Main, prominent backers will be opening „their“ Advent calendar „doors“ – behind which works of art (donated to the project by the respective artists) have been concealed from 1 to 24 December.

Ralf Bauer, who has for several years been working with jewellery designers at ENERGETIX Bingen to create the „Inspired by Ralf Bauer“ range, will also be participating in this project. With Hannelore Elsner, Dominic Raacke, Katja Flint, Christian Berkel and many other celebrities, he is backing one of the 24 contemporary works of art created for BMW’s Art Advent Calendar 2012.

Specifically, Ralf Bauer will be backing the twelfth work of art, a sculpture by the sculptor, Hendoc. And this is a duo that works really well together because when they met at the artist’s studio, Ralf Bauer actively got involved – with chainsaw, mallet and chisel – in turning a wooden block into a sculpture with the artist.

The twelfth „door“ on the XXL Advent Calendar is to be opened on Wednesday, 12 December 2012 – in the presence of Hendoc, Ralf Bauer and representatives of the sponsoring company (Bethmann Bank) – to reveal the wood sculptor’s work, which will then be presented on the façade of BMW’s building in Munich (Lenbachplatz 7a).

Interested readers may find out more about this year’s Art Advent Calendar (which is in its fifth incarnation), the artists and the celebrity backers in the special issue of „Charity Magazin Dezember 2012“ and online at www.kunstadventskalender.de.

Xmas countdown in the ENERGETIX warehouse

December has begun, Christmas is inexorably approaching and ENERGETIX Bingen is making a special effort to ensure that all distributors receive the goods they have ordered as quickly as possible.

The warehouse team is enthusiastically starting work at 7 o’clock every morning to process all the orders that have come in and dispatch the packets and parcels as fast as they can. Staff from all departments are lending a helping hand.

A very special type of charity: The Art Advent Calendar

Besides its commitment to the Hugo Tempelman Foundation, ENERGETIX Bingen will this year be participating in a very special charity: the BMW Art Advent Calendar, which 2012 is being published for the fifth time.

The principle on which it is based combines art with celebrities and businesses to create a charity project with this „trio“ that attracts great attention in the media. However, the actual figure is not actually three, but 24:

Twenty-four artists – in conjunction with a celebrity backer – have each created a work of art for a special Advent calendar and donated it to charity. Renowned businesses and media companies have helped fund the overall project and this year, all proceeds are to be donated to the „Artists for Kids“ charity.

The project, which was established in 1999 by Bernd Eichinger (1949 — 2011) among others, provides unbureaucratic help to children as well as young people and their families living in Munich who find themselves in difficult situations.

Three cities – three giant Advent calendars

In the days leading up to Christmas, the showroom windows at BMW in Munich (Lenbachplatz 7a) and Berlin (Kurfürstendamm 31) and the façade of the MyZeil-Galerie (Große Eschersheimer Straße 10 / Thurn-und-Taxis-Platz 2) in Frankfurt’s city centre are going to be turned into XXL Advent calendars. A „door“ will be opened each day from 1 to 24 December to reveal the respective work of art. The participating artists along with their backers and business sponsors as well as the initiators and press representatives will be attending the events at which the works of art are to be presented.

The ENERGETIX Charity Event at the Jumeirah, Frankfurt

ENERGETIX Bingen will be „supporting ‚door‘ No. 15“ and is planning to turn the 15th December into an event. We will not be revealing the names of the artist and backer just yet – after all, the ENERGETIX „door“ is only going to be officially opened at the Jumeirah to reveal the work of art (which we are also keeping secret!) on Saturday, 15 December 2012.

Films, on the eve of Christmas

Twenty-four short films documenting the creation of the respective works of art are also going to be transmitted on the N24 television channel from 1 to 24 December. The film about ENERGETIX’s work of art will, of course, be transmitted on 15 December – at 12.05 p.m. All films are to be shown around the clock on the Internet at N24.de.

Kevin Costner wears ENERGETIX

Kevin Costner, the American actor, film producer, director and musician who appeared on the cover of the 2011/2012 ENERGETIX catalogue, wears ENERGETIX Bingen magnetic jewellery — at a photo shoot for Arqueonautas.

In the November issue of the fashion magazine InStyle, Oscar winner Kevin Costner can clearly be seen wearing ENERGETIX’s braided bracelet 1750 in the double-page Arqueonautas advertisement.

The same magazine also contains a ten-page fashion feature with sought-after model Franziska Knuppe. FROGBLOG readers can find out about the connection between Franziska Knuppe and ENERGETIX Bingen in one of the coming articles.

In the flow: Tessi, the Magnet Finder – Android app by ENERGETIX Bingen

Now available to download for free from Google Play!

Tessi start screen

ENERGETIX Bingen has introduced another technical innovation: Tessi, the Magnet Finder.

Easy „scanning“ for magnetic flows

Tessi, the app for Android mobile phones (from Version GingerBread 2.3.3), graphically indicates magnetic flows through the body on mobile phone displays to wearers of ENERGETIX magnetic jewellery.

Distributors may now download the app free from Google Play. Just enter „Energetix Tessi“ in the Google Play search function, select the app and start the Tessi download. The download will start after confirmation.

Opening the following link on your Android mobile phone will take you directly to Tessi in Google Play:

http://www.energetix.mobi/tessi

What can Tessi do and how does the new app work?

The Android mobile phone must be held over the part of the body where the magnetic jewellery is being worn.

Take care here not to place the mobile phone directly on the magnetic jewellery but that the magnetic jewellery is covered by a part of the body (e.g. the hand) when it is „scanned“.

Tessi, the Magnet Finder

The large ENERGETIX frog remains visible at all times. Its colour intensity will change when Tessi finds a magnetic flow during the scanning process.

The frog will turn an intensive red when a strong magnetic flow is detected.

Sensor search function

Tessi possesses a practical sensor-search function for fast and simple „scanning“. Once the Android mobile phone sensor has been localized and the location saved, you’ll be able to check at any time where the sensor is located on the mobile phone by launching the sensor search function again.

Background and a look behind the scenes: The new jewellery collection — interview: part IV/V

Interview with Janine Eisenhauer, head of jewellery design at ENERGETIX Bingen.

Over the coming weeks, FROGBLOG will be uploading parts of the entire interview. So it’ll be worth coming back to take a look!

SPORT EX

ENERGETIX is treading new ground by launching its new range of bracelets made from silicone.

J. E.: A very long period of development has now been brought to fruition. We set ourselves the goal of developing an entirely new ENERGETIX product with, of course, integrated magnets especially for people who like to do sports. It was a great challenge to incorporate the magnets in such a way that the bracelet remained waterproof and we experienced many setbacks. But it is what distinguishes the sportEX bracelets in the main from the normal collection and other conventional silicone bracelets used in the field of sports. The sportEX bracelet contains three integrated magnets and is waterproof. We trod entirely new ground in the development of these bracelets and found a German partner who mainly creates silicone components for the automotive industry to cooperate with us in its development and production.

Franziska van Almsick – the face of the new sportEX bracelets made from flexible silicone

We were able to win Franziska van Almsick, who is a  wonderful model, for the sportEX campaign, which made me really happy. She combines many characteristics that are particularly ideal for our product. Working with her on the set was super professional but we also had lots of fun as the photos clearly show.

The sportEX bracelets take up the topical trends in colours as well as in design and material.

J. E.: Yes, we didn’t want to limit ourselves to just one colour and have come up with six: the currently fashionable colours of pink, green, blue and grey. In addition to the standard colours of black and white. We realized the design in conjunction with a team of product designers based in Berlin.

sportEX

The silicone material is very supple to the touch. It is coated with an antistatic protective film and all the ingredients used naturally comply with all the relevant EU directives.

CHARACTER

There are lots of many different facets to New York and it was the ideal choice for the location to shoot the photos for the Character collection. The team travelled to the DUMBO district to shoot the photos. ..

J. E.: DUMBO sounds strange at first. But it’s an acronym and stands for, „Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass“. Not really idyllic, was it? But the photos have turned out really great. You often go to unusual districts to capture their special atmosphere in the pictures. DUMBO is dirty and dusty and the noise is deafening when the subway rattles across Manhattan Bridge. We found the motifs between a transformer station and warehouses. And, as often happens in New York, the district is slowly becoming fashionable with real-estate prices increasing and modern architecture sprouting up between the somewhat run-down buildings. We encountered three other film and photo productions while we were there.

And is there anything new in regard to Character, Janine?

Category Character — bracelet 2112

J. E.: Bracelet 2112 deserves a special mention here as it is actually quite evocative of cobblestones or brickwork structures. I think its rather striking and masculine. There’s naturally also a matching pendant.

The items of jewellery on Page 99 of the catalogue put you in mind of the yin-yang symbol frequently encountered in Asia. Not a coincidence, or?

J. E.: No, we were indeed inspired by the classical yin and yang for this series. It has been realized here with two pendant elements that are able to stand on their own but that may also be worn in combination. Two U‑shapes that mesh with each other – almost like large horseshoe magnets.

EX in the City — page 99

The series also includes beads that function just like the pendant as well as a central bracelet element with strong magnets where the two U‑shape elements are encountered again.

Thank you, Janine, speak to you in Part 5.

Sporty outdoor team-building activities and the raffle for three jewellery sets successfully rounded off the Finnish Catalogue Launch.

Merja Ferahyan

Merja Ferahyan revealed that distributors in Finland have responded well to the new collection. Thanks to their elegance, the items of jewellery go really well with the Scandinavian style.

ENERGETIX Bingen seems to have struck the nerve of the times with sportEX. The silicon sports bracelets shot to the top of the ENERGETIX sales rankings as soon as they were launched on 1 September 2012.

The company offers its distributors professional materials with the image of sportEX ambassador Franziska van Almsick. They are a very effective way of advertising the bracelets at sports events, fitness and dance studios, swimming pools, leisure and wellness hotels, golf clubs and fairs.
