STARCLUB meeting in Mainz: the video of the event

Starclub, Energetix Mai 2014

The time had come again in May for STARCLUB members from five different countries in Europe to come together for a lively event where they could enjoy presentations, swap experiences and join in the fun of team-building activities on water.

Starclub 09.05.14 111

Successful combination
The event in Mainz gave the international stars the opportunity to provide feedback and make their own concrete contributions to company developments as well as to have fun by taking to the water during the outdoor physical activities on the River Rhine. And it naturally goes without saying that the get-together also represented an opportunity to honour the best!

Impressive video
We have compiled the highlights of the event in a short film. You’ll find it and many other films by and about ENERGETIX on ENERGETIX’s YouTube channel.

„Open day“ at ENERGETIX Turkey

Tag der offenen Tür Türkei 02

The new business partners took the opportunity to see ENERGETIX’s current jewellery collection at the new offices.

ENERGETIX Turkey is continuing its story of success and held an open day in Istanbul on 31 May 2014.

Over 30 business partners and interested parties accepted the invitation to take the opportunity to gain a more detailed impression of ENERGETIX, its products and its business idea. The response to the training provided at ENERGETIX Turkey’s own training room was also great – so it could be said that the meeting was an all-round success!

Tag der offenen Tür Türkei 03

Tolga Deliktaş, Branch Manager (right), with business partners

The event took place in the company’s new headquarters, because as a result of the very pleasing rapid developments at ENERGETIX Turkey, the company has already had to move to new and larger premises, which also include a separate training room (which business partners are able to use).

We wish the branch manager, Tolga Deliktaş, and his team continued success!

ENERGETIX business partners working for a good cause and dedicating themselves to both physical and social challenges – cycling „at its best“

Cycling, sportEX and charity: simply the perfect match. A fact that has been demonstrated twice again by ENERGETIX business partners from both the Netherlands and Germany: Dennis Jansen and a team led by Britta Hartmann.

Dennis Jansen
On 6 May 2014, our business partner in the Netherlands, Dennis Jansen, impressively succeeded in his physically demanding attempt to cycle up Mont Ventoux three times in succession on his racing bike. This 1911-metre high mountain is located in the Provence in France and has not only been incorporated into the Tour de France several times – it is also infamous for being really difficult to conquer! This ambitious event – the „Cinglé du Mont Ventoux“ – of which Dennis Jansen is an official club member is only something for endurance experts who are absolutely in top form. So it was right up Dennis Jansen’s street!

20140506_181042_low

Accompanying Dennis Jansen up the mountain: sportEX bracelets!

But the event didn’t only represent a physical challenge: Dennis Jansen decided to donate one euro for every sale of a sportEX article (bracelet or necklace) to the „Spieren voor Spieren“ foundation („Muscles for Muscles“), which actively supports children suffering from muscle disease.

By setting a good example, Dennis Jansen hopes his efforts will motivate other ENERGETIX business partners to also do good!

Britta Hartmann and Team
Britta Hartmann, who is an ENERGETIX business partner, along with a dedicated team of family members, other ENERGETIX business partners and customers joined the „24h Energy Ride“, which took place on 25 May 2014. The event was held to break a world record and help a good cause.

The task was to generate so much energy through indoor cycling over 24 hours that it would be possible to drive an electrically-powered car over a distance of 50 kilometres. Thanks to the teams‘ high-octane levels, the car was able to travel more than twice that distance: 105.6 kilometres!

A total of 1800 participants in 60 teams joined in to give their everything on 120 indoor bicycles. One of which was kept going for 24 hours by the ENERGETIX team. With success: the world record was broken and an entry in the Guinness Book of Records guaranteed. So an ENERGETIX sportEX team helped achieve a world record. All cyclists involved may be justifiably proud of their performances!

Funds from the event are to be donated to the Löwenherz children’s hospice in Synke near Bremen.

„It’s particularly important to me that, when I asked my colleagues over Facebook to donate, so many responded spontaneously and contributed with their donations that we were able to reserve a bicycle for ENERGETIX and cycle for a good cause. I was totally overwhelmed and for me it was an absolutely clear sign that ENERGETIX’s business partners and ENERGETIX itself stand for humanity and that we stand together for each other and for a good cause.“ (Britta Hartmann)

We congratulate both Dennis Jansen and Britta Hartmann as well as her team on their impressive physical successes and thank them for their remarkable dedication to social causes!

Important visitor: politician Julia Klöckner at ENERGETIX Bingen

On 12 June the ENERGETIX Head Office in Bingen am Rhein received a visit from a politician well-known throughout Germany, Julia Klöckner (Deputy Federal Chairwoman of the CDU). She was accompanied by the mayor of Bingen, Thomas Feser.

Owner and CEO Roland Förster and COO Klaus-Peter Thiel gave the very interested politician a comprehensive insight into the company’s departments and its working practices. Mrs. Klöckner was extremely enthusiastic about the magnetic jewellery creations she was shown and about the logistics and customer support services and the various areas of activity of the marketing department.

The top politician’s unbridled curiosity in the ENERGETIX success story was also evident during the subsequent discussion with ENERGETIX staff – in which she actively involved all the participants. Mrs. Klöckner showed herself very open to suggestions and praised the Bingen firm’s multicultural openness.

Visit to ENERGETIX Bingen

Just under 80 senior citizens from Bingen visited ENERGETIX on Tuesday 10 June. The tour of the company’s different departments – organized as part of the 20th Bingen am Rhein Senior Citizen Days (a series of events organized by the town’s Senior Citizens Advisory Committee) was of great interest to both the male and female participants. The various jewellery creations and wellness products from the House of ENERGETIX, in particular the high-tech engraving machine, were extremely well received.

Business Bootcamp selects ENERGETIX business partner Jeannette Bal as „entrepreneur of the week“

FROGBLOG_Jeannette Bal-van Schijndel

Jeannette Bal-van Schijndel

The professional success story of ENERGETIX business partner Jeannette Bal-van Schijndel even caught the attention of the Business Bootcamp, an academy that offers training and coaching to support freelancers and small businesses on the road to success. It has now honoured the committed Dutchwoman by naming her entrepreneur of the week.

From sports massage to foot reflexology massage: Jeannette Bal-van Schijndel is skilled in a wide range of massage techniques and has been running her own massage practice since 2000. Since 2002 she has also been working as an ENERGETIX business partner. And a very successful one, too! She has found ways to combine the two activities, for example by offering massages with the ENERGETIX massage tool.

Jeannette recently demonstrated her abilities at the Gutenberg Marathon in Mainz. She travelled there specially to treat the members of the ENERGETIX team to a massage after the over 21 kilometre run.

World-record success: Ice Challenge 2014

ENERGETIX distributor Esther Lasschuijt and Denise Cohen, both enthusiastic sportEX fans, joined 444 others at the Thialf Stadium in Heerenveen on 28 March 2014 to attempt a world record for the 2014 Guinness Book of Records and skate 1,000 metres across ice – not on ice-skates, however, but barefoot and wearing sportEX shirts and necklaces!

Ice Challenge 2014

Led by Wim „The Ice Man“ Hof – this Dutchman holds 18 international records for withstanding freezing temperatures, including the one for the longest time spent in an ice bath – the two ladies succeeded in their icy challenge! Congratulations!

You’ll be able to read about this achievement in the 2014 Guinness Book of Records.

Run training made easy: an interview with fitness trainer and nutrition coach Julia Rittner, part 2

FROGBLOG: Julia, from your experience as a nutrition coach, what should runners pay attention to on the last few days before the run, immediately before the run and during the half marathon itself?

Julia Rittner: On the last few days before the race you should have a high carbohydrate diet. The carbohydrate reserves can be replenished, particularly on the day before the run, but please do so 24 hours before the race itself. I always advise my athletes to avoid fibre rich food on the day before the race and eat less vegetables, lettuce or nuts, so as to reduce the burden on the gastrointestinal tract and give it less digestive work to do.

Julia Rittner, Portrait Willingen

Fitness trainer and nutrition coach Julia Rittner

On the morning of the race, an adequate amount of carbohydrates should be eaten 3 hours before the start – preferably easily digestible carbohydrates and fewer whole ones, according to experience. I know that during training each runner has already tested his or her optimum breakfast before a long run. Many swear by soaked rolled oats with honey or toast with honey or jam. An hour or even 30 minutes before the start, according to experience, they also eat a small energy bar, a ripe banana or another small slice of toast and honey. Fluid intake during the race is critical so they do not wait to feel thirsty but head straight for each refreshment station to take on more fluid! One thing I strongly advise them to test during training is nutrition while running. The gastrointestinal tract is highly sensitive during strenuous exercise and there is some nutrition that it does not necessarily tolerate. After 60 minutes the carbohydrate reserves are empty and a carbohydrate gel, a bar or a ripe banana, according to experience, can provide energy for the second half of the race. But it must always be accompanied by fluid intake.

Julia Rittner_Fuß

FROGBLOG: Now for apparel – what kind
of running gear do you advise our runners to wear on 11 May in Mainz? What in
particular do you think they should they keep in mind?

Julia Rittner: It is very important not to start experimenting on race day! The running shoes and all the clothing are familiar and have been tried out over a longer run, and the nutrition during the race should hold no surprises, either. At the start we should feel almost a bit too lightly dressed, because over-warm clothes can have a disturbing effect once the body is at running temperature and
there is a risk of overheating. We will have to wait until race day in Mainz to see what variant is best – we have already found the event equally enjoyable in incessant rain and in blistering heat.

FROGBLOG: Perhaps it is more than non-runners can comprehend, but can one get hooked on running?

Julia Rittner: The body releases more Endorphins during sporting activities, so we automatically receive endogenous feel-good hormones that naturally increase our sense of well-being. If the level is high, a state of pseudo-intoxication can be reached: we are on a virtual high and totally light-headed! Then we can easily get a bit addicted, with the determining factor being the dose – if used in moderation, individually and for health-oriented purposes, movement is a Magic bullet for achieving physical and mental health!

Julia Rittner_Lauf Wbn

FROGBLOG: And finally, how is your own preparation for the Mainz half marathon going? What goals have you set yourself?

Julia Rittner: I am enjoying doing light preparation as part of my regular training and on the day itself I will relish every kilometre, as I did last year, relaxed and happy to be part of a
fantastic team!

Thank you, Julia, for your suggestions and for your personal impressions and experiences.

With continued run training and thanks to your advice, the Mainz Marathon is bound to be an event that pleases everyone. We hope you continue to enjoy your training and wish you lots of fun on 11 May with the ENERGETIX running team!
